Freedom
Welcome to the Freedom Page! Here, I share my thoughts and experiences on how I strive to increase my freedom. Freedom is undoubtedly one of the harder concepts to quantify, but it’s an essential part of living a fulfilling life. My current equation is as follows:
Freedom = Time x Money x Career x Goals x Skills x Hobbies
From D,D,U to First-Class Honours at Durham University: My Education Success Story of Overcoming Adversity (17/07/2020)
7 years ago today I received my first AS level grades of D,U,D and was kicked out of my sixth-form school for insufficient grades. I spent the next two years completing a course where I wasn’t fully exerting myself and wasn’t fully happy with the person I was slowly but surely becoming. Not being proud of who I was or the person I was becoming, I decided to take a small step back and restart my education. An endeavour which felt like a huge risk at the time. Five years onwards and I am very grateful to report that I have this morning received my First-Class Honours grade classification from Durham University.
It’s been a rollercoaster of a journey and nothing ever felt concrete or certain. But today I can fully say that failing my A-levels at such a young age was the best thing that could have possibly happened to me. It taught me to persevere, to always work hard, to be consistent and value my time with the people and activities I’m most passionate about. I’m so grateful for all the people I’ve met along the way and who’ve shaped me to be the person I am today. I can’t wait to see where my life brings me in the next coming years. Special shoutout to Joel Alcock, Joe Copley, Daniel Williamson, Chris Nyland and Andy McCaul. You’ve all had a special impact and helped me become the person I am today and I am very very grateful! Thank you for all your time and support. Couldn't get a graduation photo due to COVID19 however the talented Ellie Hudson drew this drawing for me!
